Tower of London

So, Tower of London... the actual "tower" is this first building although today it seems to refer to the entire complex.  Not exactly what I think of as a tower, but when it was built, pretty tall for its day and it sat on a bit of a mound, so it seemed imposing to the locals.  You can also see part of an old Roman structure (lower right), which I think was part of the wall around Londinium.

Here's (next one below) where the queen's jewels are stored.  All I can say is, "Girl got some bling!"

A suit of armor made for one of the kings.  They intended to make his more intimidating than some of the others' outfits.  Um, okay.

Some other shots of the Tower of London.

Lastly, here's one with the "Shard" in the background... old and new.  Think artsy fartsy.  ;-)
